The floor is yours tonight, after-the-jump ….

But first: Top Comments appears nightly, as a round-up of the best comments on Daily Kos. Surely ... you come across comments daily that are perceptive, apropos and .. well, perhaps even humorous. But they are more meaningful if they're well-known ... which is where you come in (especially in diaries/stories receiving little attention).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send your nominations to TopComments at gmail dot com by 9:30 PM Eastern Time nightly, or by our KosMail message board. Please indicate (a) why you liked the comment, and (b) your Dkos user name (to properly credit you) as well as a link to the comment itself.

CHEERS to a great Thanksgiving weekend … that almost wasn’t. Visiting my middle sister’s home in New Jersey: she lost her power from 8:00 AM to nearly 1:00 PM. Fortunately, there were only five of us — and with a comparatively small bird (and not too many side dishes) we were able to sit-down for dinner at 7:00 PM (rather than the planned 4:00 PM).

Then had a chance the next day to do some specialty shopping in Manhattan, then a quick trip to my old hometown for some hiking with friends. A trail that friends and I first traversed in the 70’s (over three days) — this past weekend, just an hour’s portion … that still satisfied. River and creek levels were quite shallow due to the drought … hoping this winter will re-supply.

Have at it, everyone.

Let’s close with a 1937 Rodgers & Hart tune (from Babes in Arms) that has been covered by the likes of Judy Garland, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie Andrews, Joni Mitchell, Johnny Mathis, Rosemary Clooney, Audra McDonald … and this 2015 duet by Mark Winkler (along with Cheryl Bentene of the Manhattan Transfer).

Now, on to Top Comments:

From thesphynx:

From the diary by Dan K about the possibility of further pardons from the White House— Liberal Thinking's discussion of how to cleverly structure preemptive pardons for the Jan 6th Committee and other likely Trump targets, to be triggered only if Trump and his DoJ go after them for their justifiable legal investigations.

Highlighted by ecortez:

In the diary by Thom Hartmann about the continuing scam that is Medicare Advantagethis comment made by JakeTheRake.

And from Ed Tracey, your faithful correspondent this evening ........

In the diary by mikemonnett about the Substack essay by Malcolm Nance entitled Five Steps To Resist The Coming Tyranny— comments by boatwright, longwalker and northsylvania make the case that wide-open resistance to the incoming regime can be more safely done by older citizens (rather than young people worried about their future careers).

Next, an ode to the Picture Quilt — from Progressive Muse.

And lastly: yesterday's Top Mojo - mega-mojo to the intrepid mik ...... who rescued this feature from oblivion:
