The floor is all yours, dear readers, after the jump:

But first: Top Comments appears nightly, as a round-up of the best comments on Daily Kos. Surely ... you come across comments daily that are perceptive, apropos and .. well, perhaps even humorous. But they are more meaningful if they're well-known ... which is where you come in (especially in diaries/stories receiving little attention).

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Send your nominations to TopComments at gmail dot com by 9:30 PM Eastern Time nightly, or by our KosMail message board. Please indicate (a) why you liked the comment, and (b) your Dkos user name (to properly credit you) as well as a link to the comment itself.

I’ve been racking-my-brains, trying to find a topic for tonight. And falling short, as:

1)   There’s way too much about “the leak”

2)   So many here have written about the devastation-to-come in a post-Roe world.

3)   I decided to leave a look back at the CSNY song “Ohio” for tomorrow’s C&J.

To provide (at least) some content tonight:

If you are on Twitter and are seeking clarity on the Ukraine situation — beyond what Markos and Mark Sumner ably provide — two names to follow:

Malcolm Nance— the former MSNBC analyst (with a new January 6th book due out in July entitled They Want to Kill Americans) who in more recent times is re-tweeting (rather than original content). That’s because he grew tired of talking about Ukraine … and has now joined the ‘Foreign Legion’ volunteers there.

Mark Hertling— a retired Commanding General of United States Army Europe and the Seventh Army. When you see a multi-part thread from him: it will be informative and in layman’s language as best he can.

Let’s close with this recent Robert Cray tune.

Now, on to Top Comments:

From thesphynx:

In the front-page story on the discomfort Mitch McConnell is feeling on the pending Roe reversal — I nominate chmood's excellent dissection of the Supreme Court's assault on the 9th Amendment's unenumerated rights.

From siab:

In the front-page story about the Oath Keeper now agreeing to cooperate with the Justice Department over January 6th — I nominate a comment made by A Citizen. I also give Cmae a highlight - I might not have thought about sending it in except for her comment

Highlighted by EmilyJackCO:

In the front-page story about Gov. Greg Abbott’s threat to end free public education in Texas —  this comment made by CyberMindGrrl.

And from Ed Tracey, your faithful correspondent this evening ........

In the diary by Joie de Vie about the planned May 14th Women’s March— while some commenters wondered what effect it might not have, this reply by Alvin K puts it all in perspective

Next - enjoy jotter's wonderful (and now eternal) *PictureQuilt™* below. Just click on the picture and it will magically take you to the comment featuring that photo.

TOP PHOTOS

May 4th, 2022

(NOTE: Any missing images in the Quilt were removed because (a) they were from an unapproved source that somehow snuck through in the comments, or (b) it was an image from the DailyKos Image Library which didn't have permissions set to allow others to use it.)

And lastly: yesterday's Top Mojo - mega-mojo to the intrepid mik ...... who rescued this feature from oblivion:
