New Hampshire GOP ... apparently joins 'cancel culture' re: your-friend-and-mine, Mr. Gaetz

For some time, the New Hampshire GOP had listed as its monthly meeting keynote speaker in August — in the city of Nashua — as Matt Gaetz, as ye olde FNC advised on March 24th:

Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida is headed to the first-in-the-nation presidential primary state of New Hampshire this summer, to help raise money for fellow Republicans.

Multiple Republican sources in the Granite State told Fox News on Wednesday that the three-term representative and close ally of former President Trump will headline the Nashua Republican City Committee’s annual "Steak Out" fundraiser.

Naturally, our state Democratic Party took the ball and ran-with-it; just yesterday urging the governor and state party to jettison the invitation:

City committee vice chair and longtime events organizer Di Lothrop confirmed that she personally invited Gaetz – and she also made it clear that she and the Nashua committee have no intention of disinviting him, no matter how many petitions are circulated, unless and until he is proven guilty.

“I’m not backing down,” Lothrop said. “In fact, I told his director of operations that we’re still going to have him come because this whole thing, in my mind, is just a smear campaign. It’s another way to get a conservative voice – a pro-Trump conservative voice -- out of Congress.”

Lothrop said no Republican – including the governor – has asked her to rescind the invitation, and, she said, even if someone, including the governor, did ask, she would not. “They are allegations and we’re still under the rule of law in this country – innocent until proven guilty,” Lothrop said.

“That’s my stand and I’m sticking to it.”

Except ….. just today, the applicable event announcement page …. has been 404’d.
